Directions:  From Denver, take I-70 or 6th Ave to Golden and head west up Lookout Mountain Road, past the Windy Saddle and past the Lookout Mountain Nature Center. Just after the Nature Center ends at the intersection of Collorow Road, look to the East (left) for the Apex Park Trailhead.

This hike is a wonderful, and less popular hike in Apex Park.  Instead of starting from the bottom and working your way up Indian Mountain, you start from the top and descend into Apex Canyon.  From the trailhead descend down the trail through the private homes to either side.  When you reach the trail junction make a right on the Enchanted Forest Trail.  This trail is beautiful, you'll descend down through a lush evergreen forest.  The trail is very relaxing, peaceful, and serene.  Once you pass through the forest you intersect with the Apex Trail and hike back up to the trailhead, this part of the trail is far more strenuous then the way down, but it's only 1.5 miles so its not too bad.  The views back down the canyon are wonderful.  This is a great way to experience Apex Park without the crowds that start at the lower trailhead...just don't get lost in the spooky Enchanted Forest...woooo....
